A countdown widget for your iPhone

The Countdown app puts the same count you see on this site onto your phone, where you will actually look at it. Lock screen widgets show the days; home screen widgets show the full clock; and for the last day, a Live Activity keeps the seconds on screen without opening anything.

How to add the widget

• Lock screen: press and hold the lock screen, tap Customise, tap the widget area under the clock, and choose Countdown.
• Home screen: press and hold any empty space, tap the + in the corner, search for Countdown, and pick a size.
• Pick which countdown: tap the widget after adding it to choose which of your countdowns it shows.

Start from the site

Every countdown page here has an "Open in the app" button. If the app is installed, the countdown is added to it with the title, date and colour already filled in. If not, you land on the App Store — and the page keeps working in the browser either way.
