What people count 2 weeks for

• Two weeks’ notice. Most US jobs are at will, so no law requires it, but it is the standard courtesy. Give notice today and two weeks takes you to Friday, November 13, 2026. If your employer counts ten working days instead, the last day can come a few days sooner. Your handbook or contract decides.
• Biweekly pay. Paid every other Friday? The payday after this one is two weeks out. That is 26 paychecks a year, so two months a year usually have three.
