About CountdownX
LetUsBake, LLCTexas, United StatesSince 2022
CountdownX is made by LetUsBake, LLC, a small app studio in Texas. We built the Countdown app for iPhone in 2022, and this site grew out of the questions people asked us about it: how many days until Christmas, how a Schengen stay is counted, when a notice period really ends. The site answers those in the browser, in 14 languages, and the app keeps your own dates on your phone.
How the counts work
Every countdown on the site says which rule it uses, because the same question has more than one right answer. "Days until Christmas" can mean full days between now and then, or days including today, and the two differ by one. Our pages count full calendar days, today not included, in the time zone where the event happens, and they say so under the number. Where a count depends on where you are, like Christmas or New Year, the page uses your device's own clock. The page on why countdowns disagree goes through the cases.
The numbers you see are computed when the page is built and again in your browser, so a page left open overnight updates on its own.
Where the rules come from
The calculators that touch law or health, such as the notice period, warranty, Schengen and due date tools, follow a published source: the law itself, the agency that administers it, or the medical body whose guidance doctors use. Each of those pages lists its sources and the date we last checked them. Where countries differ, each language version follows its own country's rule, written by someone who knows that country rather than translated from English. We'd rather leave a case out than guess at it, and the pages say when a date is an estimate.
None of this is legal or medical advice. The tools do the arithmetic; your lawyer, employer, consulate or doctor has the final word on your case.
What we don't do
There are no accounts, and nothing you type into a calculator leaves your browser. A countdown you make lives in its link, not in a database. The site carries no advertising. The details are on the privacy page.
