Time's up

Two hours is long enough to forget about. Press Start, get on with something else, and the timer keeps counting in the background until it beeps.
What people use a 2 hour timer for
- A long exam or a full practice test. The digital SAT, for one, takes a little over two hours.
- A feature-length movie, or a screen-time limit for the evening.
- Two-hour parking, so you are back before your time runs out.
- Bread dough rising. Many recipes ask for 1 to 2 hours, or until it has doubled.
How this timer works
- It remembers the moment it will end, so it stays right when you switch tabs or your phone locks.
- At zero it plays a few short beeps, vibrates on phones that can, and shows "Time's up" in the tab title.
- While it runs it asks the screen to stay on. Full screen makes the numbers big enough to read across a room.

Questions people ask
Can I see the time left without opening the tab?
Yes. While the timer runs, the tab title shows the time left, so you can glance at it from any other tab in the same window.
Can I set 2 hours 15 minutes?
Yes. The custom timer takes any length up to 24 hours, and a link sets it for you: /timer?h=2&m=15. The link sets the time but does not start it, so press Start when you are ready.
Does the timer work without an internet connection?
Once the page has loaded, yes. The timer runs in your browser and does not need the network to count down or to beep.
Counting down to a date rather than a few minutes? The countdown maker works for any day, and with Pro the Countdown app puts it on your iPhone Lock Screen.
