How the weekends are counted
A weekend counts if its Saturday and its Sunday are both still ahead of you and both come before Christmas Day. If it's Saturday or Sunday right now, the weekend you're in is left out, since part of it is already gone; the sentence at the top gives the count with it included. A weekend that runs into Christmas, like December 24–25 in a year when Christmas is a Sunday, doesn't count either.
